The Position

Position summary

Under general direction, responsible for People & Culture (HR) projects globally or regionally. Takes projects from original concept through completion. Develops and maintains detailed work plans, resource plans and budget. End to end responsible for project execution using the most suitable methodology, tracks project tasks, identifies and manages risks and issues, maintains all stakeholder relationships. Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables to ensure compliance with current business strategies, relevant standards and legal constraints.

Leads the project team of local and remote team members to successfully deliver business value. Provides methodological guidance to the project team, provides coaching/mentoring. If applicable works with vendors, manages the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables.

Responsibilities

Project Management

Responsible for the end-to-end project delivery, ensuring that expected business benefits and quality are met

Knowledgeable about multiple project management methodologies from traditional waterfall to agile practices i.e. scrum, SAFE, design thinking, etc. and able to select the most suitable one to maximize project outcome

Set up a robust project governance structure, define project scope and key objectives in collaboration project sponsor, steering committee or Product Owner.

Identify all relevant project stakeholders, proactively manage relationships and ensure customer view is reflected in the execution of the project.

Prepare and execute effective communication, change management and training plans for all levels of stakeholders including senior management.

Create baseline project schedules and track the completion of project deliverables, tasks, activities and milestones.

Work with regional PMO to ensure timely and accurate reporting on project scope, schedule, cost and resources, as well as project risks, issues, action items, and dependencies and develop corrective actions. Oversee realization of project value or benefits from solutions delivered.

Actively and effectively manage project spending, resources, risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies (RAID) by carefully assessing potential impacts in collaboration with project teams and dependencies. Propose appropriate mitigation actions and risk acceptance (where applicable).

Leadership, People and Culture

Coach/mentor project teams or teams in the organization through their agile journey to establish and strengthen the agile mindset and put agile methodologies in practice

Lead project team by example in line with Roche Leadership commitments, People Practices and policies.

Coach and provide training to the project team on tools, techniques, and systems used to control and execute projects.

Build a strong project team around the key values of Roche i.e. collaboration, innovation and self-management.

Drive delivery commitment from all project resources and actively manage the resolution of any conflicts within the project team

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Innovation

Collaborate with peers within the region and globally, work efficiently in communities, networks.

Share practices across the project management global network and be open to try new methodologies.

Who you are

In this role you will be working with stakeholders from various functions and across levels within the organization. Strong leadership competencies and demonstrated success in change management are critical.

You bring the following skills and competencies:

Experience in a shared service center, with a proven track record leading regional or global service project teams, preferably in an HR services environment.

Demonstrated experience managing projects/programs with a high degree of complexity and scope as well as large budget and business impact.

Strong cross-cultural communications, influence, leadership, conflict management and negotiation skills and tools know how

Ability to credibly represent our People and Culture vision and strategy and \xe2\x80\x9cthe why\xe2\x80\x9d behind it.

Ability to influence and work with complex stakeholder groups to partner in achieving our strategy. Ability to exert influence to create positive cultural change.

You bring the following qualifications and capabilities critical to the role:

Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in focus business area such as Human Resources, Project Management or equivalent experience.

5-7 years of project management experience in a global environment; experience in Human Resources preferred.

Knowledge of project management practices including waterfall and agile i.e. scrum, SAFE, design thinking, lean, etc.

2-3 years experience in agile/ team coaching and guiding project teams as well as teams within the organization to increase performance

Experience in agile transformation preferred

PMI and Agile certifications preferred

Experienced and efficient handling of standard IT-applications, preferably Google suite

Fluency in English is required, additional languages a plus, based on region (i.e. Chinese in APAC)
