Job Description

:Key responsibilities:Strategy and Planning

• Provide legal advice and support to Management in strategic and planning initiatives
• Engaging with the Business Units to overcome legal impediments and complexities whilst ensuring that legal risks and efficiently managed and mitigated.

Business Performance and Management

• Oversight of regional ECM transactions and deals, DCM and CF advisory, stockbroking and research advisory on legal matters (including the review of legal agreements in respect of the Business Units, when required)
• Collaborate with the various legal teams and legal departments within CIMB Group, as well as facilitate collaboration across countries for sharing of best practices
• Ensure responsible and open communication with stakeholders on an ongoing basis, to enhance effectiveness of legal support to the Business Units
• Participate in activities to build the desired organizational culture, values and preserve the reputation in the Group and with all staff, clients and regulatory bodies
• Any other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management, from time to time with respect to legal matters.
• Provide guidance to members of the team to ensure legal issues are accurately addressed and ensure effective turnaround time.

Regulatory Compliance

• Provide legal advice and support to Investment Banking Compliance to ensure CIMB complies with all relevant laws, rules and regulations
• Keeps abreast of relevant laws, regulations and market practices in order to provide advice and legal support to your Direct Superior and the Co-Heads of Group Legal to manage the legal risks of the Group (relating to the supported businesses)
• Advisory on ensuring compliance with the relevant legal and regulatory requirements, CIMB policies and procedures and the Department\'s policy and procedures.

People Management / Administration and Support

• Manage Legal team supporting the Business Units and work closely with legal teams in the region
• Management of all matters as may be required by the Co-Heads of Group Legal
