Role Overview:

The Financial Coconut is looking for a sharp, SEO-savvy

Writer/ SEO Specialist

to grow our organic reach through high-quality, search-optimised content.

You'll play a hybrid role: part storyteller, part strategist. You'll research, plan, and write compelling content around finance, careers, and personal growth for a Singaporean audience (with Southeast Asian relevance), while ensuring each piece is discoverable, engaging, and aligned with SEO best practices.

You'll be hands-on across the full SEO content lifecycle: keyword research, content strategy, outlining, writing/editing, optimisation, and performance analysis.

Key Responsibilities

Content Strategy & Research

Conduct keyword research and competitor analysis to identify high-impact opportunities within finance, careers, and personal growth niches. Develop SEO content plans and topic clusters aligned with The Financial Coconut's brand voice and editorial calendar. Translate data and podcast insights into actionable content ideas, reports, and evergreen guides.

SEO Content Creation

Write and optimise long-form blog posts (1,200-2,500+ words) with clear structure, credible sources, and internal/external linking. Create short-form content such as newsletters, summaries, and supporting materials that drive engagement and conversions. Ensure all content meets E-E-A-T standards (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness).

Optimisation & Performance

Optimise on-page SEO: meta titles, descriptions, headings, schema, internal linking, and image alt text. Update and republish older articles to improve rankings, CTR, and engagement metrics. Monitor performance via Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Search Console (GSC), and Ahrefs/SEMrush; report insights and recommendations.

Collaboration & Operations

Maintain the SEO and content calendar in collaboration with the editorial and design teams. Work closely with content creators, hosts, and marketing to align topics with ongoing campaigns and audience interests. Stay up-to-date with algorithm updates, SEO trends, and finance news relevant to Singapore and the region.

Requirements

Experience:

2-4 years in SEO writing, content strategy, or digital marketing -- ideally in finance, business, or related domains.

SEO Proficiency:

Strong understanding of keyword research, search intent, on-page optimization, and content analytics.

Writing Skills:

Ability to communicate complex financial or economic topics in plain, relatable English.

Analytical Mindset:

Comfortable using data to guide content strategy and measure success.

Tools:

Working knowledge of GA4, GSC, Ahrefs/SEMrush, and CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, HubSpot).

Familiarity:

Understanding of Singapore's financial landscape (CPF, housing, taxes, cost of living, etc.).

Workflow:

Reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently or asynchronously.

Nice-to-Haves:

Experience with newsletter tools (Mailchimp, ConvertKit, Beehiiv). Familiarity with A/B testing and conversion optimization. Basic HTML, CSS, or CMS troubleshooting.

Success Metrics (KPIs)

Growth in organic sessions, impressions, and keyword rankings. Improved CTRs, dwell time, and featured snippet acquisition. Growth in newsletter sign-ups, backlinks, and content shares. Percentage of refreshed content showing measurable SEO uplift.
