About the Team Our Southeast Asia communications team plays an integral role in TikTok\'s global storytelling and forms an essential part of a connected and growing team in the global communications function. We are looking for an outstanding Communications Director to join us and help make an impact on our brand and our business. Responsibilities - Lead strategy and execution for product communications in Malaysia to support the brand development and reputation management of TikTok and for other ByteDance products. - Develop proactive approaches, across external channels, that showcase our brand, our positive impact on the community as well as educate our partners and policymakers on issues important to TikTok and our community - Collaborate closely with the team and cross-functional stakeholders to develop and implement a range of proactive communications campaigns and relevant narratives, from key partnerships, product, safety and brand announcements to evergreen story opportunities. - Engage regularly with tier one media and other key stakeholders, to build credibility and advocacy for the brand and reach key audiences. - Develop proactive and reactive communications around issues in Malaysia. - Be a strategic partner and counsel for all functions in advancing business objectives. - Prepare spokespeople for media interviews, regulatory meetings, and public appearances - Manage external PR agencies to support these efforts. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: - Minimum bachelor\'s degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related fields. - Professional corporate communications experience. - Excellent strategic, analytical, and verbal communication skills. - Deep understanding of and passion for tech and e-commerce policy in Malaysia. - Established relationships with tech, business, and consumer media Preferred Qualifications: - Adapting well under pressure and is motivated in a fast-paced environment - Ability to take initiative; motivated and self-starting - Candidates with experience in communications agency experience prior are - preferred.
