Functional Description

Manages the design, planning, construction, testing & commissioning and start up of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities. Plans, budgets, and schedules facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related costs. Designs and develops organizational policies relevant to the facilities department. Oversees the coordination of building space allocation and layout, communication services and facilities expansion. May have responsibility for establishing and overseeing health and safety standards. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel, contractors, consultants and/or suppliers to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

• Specify and recommend building equipment modifications to improve safety, reliability and operability of the site facilities.
• Responsible for leadership & delivery projects within the Penang facility portfolio.
• Contribute to the development of the Facility Engineering Project Delivery function and processes.
• Develops compelling business cases and solutions to complex, fast moving challenges.
• Identifies, recruits & leads teams of project support professionals.
• Develops, implements & upholds effective project & construction management standards to facilitate safe & timely delivery of the major capital project portfolio.
• Oversees all capital project plans, designs, estimates & schedules & for securing budgets to deliver the same.
• Contribute to the development of strategic Facility Master Plans to facilitate capital planning requirements.
• Keeps pace with regional Design & Construction industry trends to identify opportunities & implications for the Dexcom business.
• Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses.
• Ability to provide regular project updates, reports, and presentations.
• Assumes and performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirement

• Typically requires a Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with 10+ years of facilities industry experience with 7+ years of previous facilities construction project management experience.
• Deep subject matter expertise in capital project design, construction & portfolio management.
• Experience in managing scope, schedule and budget of large projects.
• Ability to work independently in high pressure, fast moving situations.
• Creative & results focused with a proven track record of implementing solutions for complex business challenges.
• Ability to demonstrate balance between collaborative, team-oriented development and executing on commitments.
• Experience of GMP systems and presenting to FDA or other regulatory agencies.
• Experience with continuous improvement processes.
