Functional Description

The Security Supervisor is responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of security programs designed to protect employees, visitors, contractors, and company assets. The Security Supervisor will work with various departments to ensure that security procedures are adequate and up to date. He or she will also be responsible for investigating security incidents, preparing reports, and making recommendations for improvement as and where necessary.

He or she manages the operation and maintenance of security equipment and other systems. Designs and develops organizational policies relevant to the Security department. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. You\'ll work to ensure security programs are effective. You\'ll also perform regular inspections on security systems and arrange for maintenance as and when required. You will have the duty of maintaining the automated security systems and employee ID card system. You will also serve as the point of contact for security system issues. Good communication is important since one of your duties may also be to provide training to guards on use and features of security systems.

  • Typically requires Bachelors Degree. Professional Certificate, any field or professional security qualification would be advantageous.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in Security organization in a Supervisory role at an MNC or relevant industry experience.
  • Experienced in conducting investigations on security related incidents: breach, loss prevention cases, workplace violence etc.
  • Good knowledge of security equipment and security systems - Intrusion Alarm, CCTV related systems, Integrated security systems, Card Access Systems, Badge preparation, Visitor Management System, etc.
  • Working proficiency in English and Malay. Ability to converse and/or write/read in other languages is advantageous.
  • Physically fit to be able to walk the site and able to stand for part of the working hours and lift occasional weight.
Required Qualifications
  • Oversees the monitoring of the Security Program, ensuring the program is aligned with company priorities and meets departmental goals.
  • Ensures the Security Operations Center (SOC) alarms, video surveillance, communications devices and other pertinent security equipment is adequate, and functional and the center is always appropriately staffed.
  • Access badge control and accountability including preparing and administering the Employee Badging activities.
  • Is responsible for Helping to set the culture of Security and customer facing representation of Security and Facilities as a whole.
  • Foster relations and integrating information sharing with Facilities and EHS
  • Ensuring that security measures are in place to protect against theft, fire hazards, and other physical threats to assets
  • Establishes and maintains site procedures and instructions outlining the roles and responsibilities for maintaining a safe and secure workplace and facility.
  • Supervises and trains Security Leads and other personnel assigned to protective service duties, as necessary.
  • Coordinate with law enforcement, fire departments, and other emergency response teams as needed
  • Respond to security alarms and investigate suspicious activity
  • Coordinating security activities with other departments, including Facilities and Human Resources
  • Reviewing security reports and identifying potential problems that need to be addressed
  • Developing security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal requirements
