Job Description

As a Sustainability Manager, you need to be a change agent to nurture the sustainability culture at Malayan Cement Berhad (MCB). This role will have the overall responsibility to develop and manage MCB\'s sustainability programme and transformation agenda. The incumbent will report to the Head of Sustainability - MCB and join MCB as a staff member of Geo Alam Environmental. Job Responsibilities 1. Plan, Implement and Deliver Sustainability Programmes Support the establishment of a medium to long-term sustainability strategic blueprint and contribute towards the development of annual programmes and action plans Mobilise resources and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to work on initiatives and action plans, remedy gaps and solve implementation issues to ensure sustainability initiatives and action plans achieve targets Support Vietnam and Singapore operations in their sustainability programme planning and implementation Maintain up-to-date knowledge on technical aspects of the business and regulatory requirements 2. Monitor and report new development in regulations, carbon market, and other related areas Track latest statutory requirements, listing requirements, sectoral guidelines, reporting standards, etc. Stay up-to-date on carbon regulations and market, locally as well as in relevant geographies Stay up-to-date on sector and industry ESG initiatives in other regions 3. Manage and Support Sustainability Performance Ensure effective cascading of KPIs by engaging with HODs Ensure persons responsible are trained and have the right tools to implement the programmes defined and achieve targets set Conduct periodic review of initiatives and action plans with HODs to ensure alignment with sustainability strategy and include measures to address changes in the regulations/market Work with related departments to assess potential solutions for decarbonisation. 4. Disclosures and Reporting Coordinate and support the preparation of annual sustainability reports for MCB and statements for YTL Corporation sustainability reports Support overseas operations in their reporting Take measures to ensure sustainability reporting aligns with GRI and other reporting requirements as identified Prepare responses to inquiries received 5. Stakeholder Engagement Develop a strong working relationship with authorities and external stakeholders Develop and implement annual engagement programmes with the Communications Department Support other functions in their stakeholder engagement on ESG matters 6. Others Carry out other duties as assigned during the course of employment Actively seek out opportunities for improvement and ways to do things better; and take proactive actions that lead to implementation Participate in YTL Cement BUILDS activities Job Requirements 1. Education, work experience and competency Bachelor\'s Degree in science or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 3.5 At least 2 years working experience as a Manager in sustainability role Good command of both written and spoken Bahasa Melayu and English 2. Possess Knowledge and Comprehension of Corporate Sustainability Fundamentals including Bursa listing requirement and sustainability reporting Sustainable development GRI FTSE, TCFD, TNFD, Climate Change and Principle-based Taxonomy Corporate governance 3.
