Job Description

You are to build and manage a team of formulators in delivering a complex portfolio of product rejuvenation, maintenance and customer support projects. You will work with other responsibilities to set agreed priorities and action plans that support the wider goals. Reports to the Senior Technical Manager, Industrial Coatings SEA

Main Responsibilities

Lead the customer development lab technical teams to support business segment growth objectives in the region.

Lead the technical teams in SEA countries to be with care for the regional technical processes.

Work within the PPG operating framework with strict adherence to company EHS, Product Stewardship, Intellectual Property and Ethical policies.

Manage and motivate teams of Technical Team Leaders, Chemists and Technicians. Works with manager and other functions to establish an agreed plan of action according to satisfying our strategy.

Manages a portfolio of projects, prioritise work and align resources to meet the agreed plan.

Delivers significant positive impact to overall technical results and business profitability through innovation and value creation programmes, including formula/product cost reduction and complexity reduction projects.

Has a thorough understanding of customer and end-user needs and practices.

Continually monitors competitors\xe2\x80\x99 products and their quality through regular benchmarking activity.

Participates in or leads project teams reginoally.

Replicates and uses proven technical successes elsewhere to deliver speed to grow

Qualifications

Honours Degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline

8+ years\xe2\x80\x99 work experience in a technical role within the Industrial Coatings sector, specialising in Liquid coatings or at the very least in a related chemical industry.

Preferably possess in-depth knowledge of liquid coatings product formulation and costing, raw material sourcing, laboratory test methods, industry standard performance specification testing, colour matching, QC and production support (including scale-up and management).

Product application considerations and troubleshooting - preferably in a multinational corporate environment.
