Job Description


Our Client is one of the largest private education groups in Malaysia with an unsurpassed track record built up over the last six decades. A leading private educational provider in Malaysia. As part of their growth plans, they are seeking to hire a dedicated and experienced Vice President of Operations to be part of their team.

Responsibilities:

  • To provide leadership and strategic vision for most of the business operation functions including strategic property & facilities. management, operational excellence, risk management, legal and administration across the multifamily portfolio of properties under the entire Group and associated entities.
  • Define and implement operations strategy, structure and processes to increase quality, productivity and stakeholders satisfaction aside from overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the organisation.
  • Drive strategic initiatives which will result in long-term cost savings and operational efficiency improvements.
  • Improve the existing Policies and Procedures in line with industry best practices adaptable to organisational\'s settings.
  • Formalise an effective risk management, control and compliance program.
  • Provide support and facilitation for the smooth operations of other business functions which translate into highly rated stakeholders satisfaction.
  • Build and nurture high-performing team through effective coaching and leadership.
Strategic Property & Facilities Management
  • Collaborate with senior leadership team to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on operations projects and systems.
  • Establish, communicate, and implement operations-related policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent support and execution.
  • Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in operations management.
  • Ensure that departmental decisions and project plans such as those for staffing, development, organization, material efficiency, hardware acquisitions, and facilities are in line with the organization\'s business plan and vision.
  • Lead in the preparation of yearly departmental budget with the objective to maximise property value by implementing proper operating and capital expenditure control system.
Operational Excellence
  • Define operational metrics that leads towards achieving organization wide strategic goals.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials.
  • Share the change mindset across the organization.
  • Improve overall staff and customer satisfaction rate
Risk Management, Legal and Compliance
  • Assist respective departments in documenting the controls related to all relevant risk, compliance with laws and regulations, established compliance programs, internal controls and operational processes.
  • Perform risk assessments and recommend level of tolerance for risk.
  • Review the current compliance policies and procedures to identify areas of improvement.
  • Ensure the organisation remains fully compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
Administration
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of all administrative policies and procedures.
  • Oversee training and development of staff.
  • Manage the organisation\'s Human Resources tasks as assigned by the President.
  • Manage the company\'s IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and telecommunications systems by liaising with Company\'s ICT division.
  • Ensure that the company\'s insurance coverage is adequate and up to date.
  • Plan and coordinate company events, both internal and external.
Key Requirements:
  • Possess a Master/Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering/ Facilities Management/ Computer Science/ Business or equivalent with minimum of 15 years of relevant working experience.
  • Experience in Facilities and Property Management industries is desirable.
  • Solid background of experience and an impressive track record of innovation and attainment of goals in complex organizations, especially in a global enterprise environment and matrix organizations.
  • Experience in directing and managing within a dynamic and challenging environment, working inclusively through people in a multi-cultural environment to achieve shared objectives.
  • Technically sound with good business acumen.
  • Strong change management and leadership skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Able to communicate in Bahasa Malaysia & English (written & spoken).
Remunerations & Benefits:
  • Min Basic Salary RM23,000 to RM25,000.
  • Those with direct industry experience with higher salary bracket will be considered.
