Conduct Shariah compliance reviews for Islamic products and services from development stage to the product offering and recovery to ensure compliance to the applicable Shariah requirements.
Conduct periodic Shariah compliance reviews for branches, businesses, Islamic distribution channels, Shariah Business Overseas and Commodity Trading Providers (CTPs) as to ensure compliance to the applicable Shariah requirements Key Responsibilities:
Provide report to the board, Shariah Committee of RHB Islamic Bank Berhad (SCR) and senior management regularly on Shariah non-compliance issues and findings.
Inform and provide updates to the board, SCR and senior management on the latest developments in legal and regulatory requirements in Islamic finance, especially in relation to issuance of the Shariah Advisory Council of Bank Negara Malaysia (SAC) rulings.
Ensure adequate training and guidance are provided to the officers of RHB Group on relevant Shariah requirements governing the RHB Group\xe2\x80\x99s operations, business, affairs and activities.

Provide Qualified Shariah Officer (QSO) Confirmation through research, analysis, assessment and related justification on Shariah related risk incidents.
Execute Shariah assessment and screening on the LDC incidences in Op Risk Evo system.
Conduct Shariah Compliance Assessment (SCA) to assess of whether the Islamic banking operations and business practices complies to the applicable Shariah requirements
Circle Vision and Value Delivery
Determine a strategy, in alignment with CoE Lead to deliver the long-term target for the Circle
In conjunction with Circle Leads ideate actionable initiatives for the CoE
Remove obstacles and coordinate actions for successful implementation of initiatives
Continuously engage other Leads /stakeholders to align on priorities and major dependencies
Regularly review report on team performance and examine areas for improve
Continuous Improvement of Performance
Report the progress of Circle to CoE Lead on a frequent basis
Actively explore and assess opportunities for improvement of results and define (in alignment with CoE Lead) feasible steps for Circles within the CoE to achieve improvements
Coordination and Prioritization
Together with relative CoE Lead, hold responsibility for success of the team in achieving target performance.
Align with CoE Lead on the objectives of the teams in Circle and remove any misalignment
Play harmonizing role in alignment of team\'s objective
Support and Team Management.
Understand and communicate performance target and initiatives to team leads/members
Refine and clarify key issues faced by teams and customers (internal & external) from team leads/members
Ensure continuous improvement, coordinating with other parties within the CoE if necessary
Clearly communicate objectives to leads/members to motivate, inspire and foster delivery
Evaluate and monitor performance of team within the Circle
Closely work with team leads (if any) to ensure team members are evaluated fairly and can improve performance
Requirements
Requirements: Bachelor Degree - Bachelor of Shariah (Islamic Law) with specialization in Fiqh and Usul Fiqh, Fiqh Muamalat (Islamic Law of Transactions/Islamic Commercial Law) or equivalent related degree holder with honors from local universities or equivalent recognized qualifications by Government..
- Preferably relevant certification related to Shariah or Islamic Banking and Finance.
Minimum 8 years of working experience
Minimum 3 years of working experience in Islamic banking products and services
Minimum 3 years of working experience in handling compliance functions or related experience, e.g., internal audit or operational risk in a financial institution
Minimum 3 years of working experience in a commercial banking environment
Minimum 3 years of working experience in an investment banking environment
