Job Description

:

• Support the Head of Shariah Review & Assurance in meeting CIMB Group\'s Islamic Banking business and strategic objectives
• Responsible to enhance and/or develop the appropriate Work Plan\'s according to the Shariah Review team\'s resources and risk assessment result
• Responsible to manage data and perform the relevant analysis to ensure the accurate reporting and assessment and to give strategic input or recommendation to provide better control/state to the Bank\'s Shariah compliant
• To enhance and/or develop the appropriate tracker to ensure the adherence to the team\'s governance by closely tracking the followings:
• Annual Shariah Reviews and initiatives are conducted as per the approved annual compliance work plan and adhoc request by the relevant authorities e.g. BNM, the relevant Boards and Senior Management;
• Escalation of Shariah issues and potential Shariah non-compliance related by the stakeholders using the approved template and to work closely with Shariah Review on the decision; and
• Outcome from Shariah Review report is comprehensive and sufficiently addressed the root-cause of the breach/ lapse, where relevant.
• To enhance and/or develop the appropriate Work Plan\'s according to the team\'s resources and the risk assessment result.
• To strengthen and attend to any queries, collaboration and engagement cross functions in Group Compliance, other departments, regional countries compliance, auditors and regulators particularly in the area of Shariah Review & Assurance.
• To provide and support the execution of Shariah Review related training.
• Assume active involvement in management of critical issues and provide solutions, where needed
• Perform any other responsibilities/ tasks as assigned by the Regional Head from time to time
