Operational Functions

  • Patrolling at assigned areas
  • Investigate and take necessary action on information received
  • To protect the life and property of citizens
  • Provide crime prevention activities
  • Apprehend and process suspects / offenders
  • Promote and maintain good community relations
  • Preserve the peace
  • Prevent crime and other offenses
  • Responding to the scene of a crime or an accident
  • Writing crime reports
  • Responding to radio calls
  • Monitoring any suspicious activity of ongoing crimes
  • Coordinating vehicular traffic
  • Provide assistance and encouragement to other persons in crime prevention
  • Assist victims
  • Apprehend criminals and other offenders and others who may lawfully be taken into custody
  • Execute warrants
  • Process charges, participate in prosecutions for in house enquiry
  • Perform lawful duties as designated by the CSO
  • Plan activities within assigned guarded area
  • Facilitate and promote community policing
  • Accurately assess the need for further intervention and/or diversion
  • Assist other primary agencies such as fire or ambulance
  • Know and perform duties specified in the Auxiliary Police Standard Operation Procedures..
People Management
  • Carries out tasks within the operational context of own job and applies competencies to meet team's work goals.
Customer Relationship
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with the diverse community.
Qualification
  • Note: The qualifications indicated are the ideal requirements for the position. Exceptions may apply to internally promoted staff based on performance
  • Possesses at least Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM)
  • Credit in Bahasa Malaysia and pass in English
  • Male/Female, age 20 to 35
  • Fit, good eyesight, minimum height of 170cm
Experience
  • Existing Auxiliary Police, or former Auxiliary Police/ Policeman with 2 years of experience (min) is encouraged to apply
Skill / Competencies
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate in English and Good in Bahasa Malaysia . Mandarin is preferable but optional
  • Basic Computer skills e.g Microsoft Office
  • Good personal attributes - honest and able to work under presure in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to maintain control in times of crisis
  • Ability to drive staff for optimum performance
  • No criminal record
  • Prepared to work on shift, weekend and public holidays
