Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:



Supervise and coordinate employees to set up and clean guest rooms and public areas according to established standards, ensuring linen, F&B linen, and uniforms are in good condition and adequately stocked. Prepare staff schedules/rosters, conduct briefings, monitor staff activity, and maintain quality inspections. Manage linen and uniform inventories, repair or discard damaged items, and ensure sufficient stock. Maintain hotel property, operate equipment safely, minimize costs, and follow all cleaning and operational procedures. Update room status, report on chemical and supply usage, and implement key room procedures including DND, lost & found, safety boxes, pest control, and other room-related protocols. Know emergency procedures (fire, bomb threat, flood) and ensure staff compliance. Lead by example, motivate team members, recognize outstanding performance, address substandard work constructively, and encourage staff development. Communicate professionally with guests, suppliers, and colleagues, and keep supervisors informed of issues affecting work or service. Be flexible, adaptable, reliable, punctual, proactive, and maintain a clean, professional appearance. Provide friendly, caring service to guests, maintain teamwork, keep the work environment tidy, and pay attention to detail in all tasks. Follow company policies, the Employee Handbook, and SOPs while using initiative when supervisors are not present. Continuously develop expertise through training, participate in departmental revenue and cost strategies, and align actions with the hotel's vision. Performance is evaluated on quality of work, communication, discipline, teamwork, personal grooming, customer relations, adaptability, dependability, attitude, planning, organizing, and problem-solving. QUALIFICATIONS:



High school diploma or equivalent; a certificate or diploma in Hospitality or Hotel Management is an advantage. 2-4 years of experience in housekeeping, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or team lead role. Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations, cleaning procedures, equipment, chemicals, and safety standards. Experience in inventory management of linen, uniforms, and guest supplies. Excellent leadership, team-management, and motivational skills. Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to train, guide, and develop staff to maintain high service standards. Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and hygiene. Customer-service oriented with a professional and positive attitude. Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and handle guest concerns effectively. Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays. High level of professionalism, integrity, and responsibility.

Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
