Summary

Incumbents apply in-depth knowledge in a specific area of specialization. Work is performed within established professional standards and practices. Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors and a considerable degree of judgement. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results may have a negative impact on the divisions/departments operations, schedules, and/or performance goals. Works under minimum Supervision. Seeks approval from others on matters outside of job/role scope. Receives instruction on specific assignment objectives and possible solutions. Unusual problems are solved jointly with manager. Work is reviewed for application of sound technical judgment. May lead a work group or project team consisting of technical and support staff. Builds internal and external relationships, with emphasis on those that facilitate the achievement of job/role accountabilities, such as relationships with key suppliers, customers and internal service.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

Responsible for human resource management for dedicated business and act as the first point of contact for business partners, managers, and employees seeking advice for ER/IR-related matters.

Administers processes, policies, and programs related to talent attraction, compensation & benefits, employee relations, industrial relations and performance management.

Champion employee relations and industrial relations strategies and processes for the organization.

Conducts internal investigations of acts of employee misconduct, including interviewing, gathering evidence, consulting legal counsel, making recommendations and documenting findings.

Provides employee relations consulting services to employees and is responsible for employee engagement activities, including the rollout of corporate human resources programs.

Develop and manage HR policies and guidelines, including employee handbook and HR portal.

Partners with stakeholders to effect change and effectively serve as a change agent by managing programs\' development, implementation and continuous improvement to enhance employee satisfaction, improve morale, positively impact retention and assure alignment with corporate values and policies.

Ensures compliance with corporate policies, governmental regulations and laws. Keeps abreast of legislative decisions and changes in employment laws and regulations to limit legal exposure and liability.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

Significant knowledge of government legislation impacting the practice of human resources management.

In-depth knowledge of the Employment Act and other related legislation. Knowledge of RBA is an added advantage.

Highly self-motivated and dynamic individual who can work independently.

Good public presentation skills.

Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with a wide variety of internal customers.

Ability to evaluate multiple highly detailed tasks, determine priorities and organize work in a manner that allows for the timely completion of projects.

Ability to manage sensitive employee information in a confidential manner.

Proficient with Microsoft Office and related software.

Physical Demands

  • Occasional travel is required.
  • Applicants must be willing to work at Seelong.
Typical Experience
  • At least 5 years\' experience in Human Resources with minimum 3 years\' experience in Industrial Relations, preferably in a manufacturing environment .
Typical Education
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Human Resource of related field, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
