Objectives of the Position

  • This position is a key member of GB/H leadership team and KL Management Team, oversee the local HR operations for BASF Asia Pacific Service Centre HR.
  • Manages a team of HR business partners and works closely with HR colleagues within BASF Group as ONE HR to provide HR solutions enabling the achievement of business objectives, increasing organizational effectiveness and efficiency.
Main Tasks

Local HR Operations
  • Partner with senior leadership to drive and implement effective HR initiatives and practices that will support the strategic growth of Service Hub KL.
  • Ensure local HR practices, policies and procedures are compliant with regulation and in line with market acceptable practices.
  • Leads a team of HR Business Partners to ensure the professional delivery of HR services.
  • Supports and coaches team members to help resolve organizational / employee issues and requests in line with overall Company guidelines and strategy.
  • Works closely with Senior Management team to identify the critical business/organizational needs, challenges, and people trends; develops and implements appropriate HR programs/solutions in close co-operation with relevant HR colleagues within BASF Group to support the business objectives and overall organization strategies.
  • Serves as consultant in collaboration with HR Centre of Expertise functions, and provides HR expertise, advice and coaching to people leaders on strategic and operational HR matters.
  • Partners with senior leaders on organizational development, restructuring and/major change projects.
  • Provides support on workforce planning and succession planning; talent acquisition and on-boarding, talent development, employee engagement and retention.
  • Facilitates performance management calibration and improvement process; provides support on compensation matters including salary planning and merit review, job evaluation, promotions, etc.
  • Provides insightful data and analysis to guide decision-making and problem solving on people issues.
  • Works with people leaders to address all types of industrial relations topics, in compliance with local laws & regulations as well as HR policies and guidelines.
Contribution to HR Effectiveness and Efficiency
  • Works closely with HR colleagues within BASF Group as ONE HR to provide HR solutions enabling the achievement of business objectives.
  • Provides constant feedback on the effectiveness of HR programs/initiatives and provide recommendation on further improvement to achieve HR effectiveness and efficiency.
Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
Working Experience
  • Minimum 10 years of working experience in Human Resources with at least 4 years in leadership role.

Technical & Professional Knowledge
  • Broad knowledge of HR industry practices and generalist experience in HR management, experience in HR shared services or outsourcing industry is an advantage.
  • Experience in project and change management either on a local, regional or global scale.
  • Experience in collaborating on a local, regional and/or global scale in implementing HR initiatives.
  • Experience in building / driving organizational culture.
