Position Overview: The IR & ER Specialist plays a vital role in managing and maintaining positive employee relations within the semiconductor industry. The role is open exclusively to Sarawakian residents, who possess an understanding of local labor laws, regulations, and cultural nuances. Responsibilities: 1) Develop and implement strategies for effective industrial relations and employee engagement, aligned with organizational goals and objectives. 2) Establish and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders, including labor unions, works councils, and government bodies, to foster collaborative partnerships. 3) Provide guidance and support to management and employees on employment-related matters, including interpretation and implementation of labor laws, policies, and procedures. 4) Collaborate with HR teams to ensure compliance with relevant employment legislation, collective bargaining agreements, and other labor-related obligations. 5)Facilitate and participate in negotiations, mediation, and dispute resolution processes between management, employees, and labor unions to resolve conflicts effectively. 6) Conduct investigations into workplace grievances, disciplinary matters, and complaints, ensuring fair and impartial handling of cases. 7) Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, records, and reports related to IR & ER activities, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to data protection regulations. 8) Stay updated on changes in labor legislation and industry trends, providing proactive advice and recommendations to mitigate potential risks and improve employee relations. 9) Deliver training programs and workshops to enhance managers\' and employees\' understanding of labor laws, employment practices, and fostering a positive work environment. 10) Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies and practices that promote employee well-being, engagement, and a harmonious work environment. Requirements: 1) Sarawakian residency is mandatory for this role due to the job\'s focus on local labor laws and cultural understanding. 2) Bachelor\'s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field. Professional certifications in IR & ER will be an added advantage. 3) Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in industrial relations, employee relations, or labor relations, preferably in the semiconductor or related industries. 4) In-depth knowledge of Sarawak labor laws, regulations, and employment practices. 5) Familiarity with collective bargaining processes, negotiations, and conflict resolution methods. 6) Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with employees, management, labor unions, and external stakeholders. 7) Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities to assess complex employee relations issues and develop appropriate solutions. 8) Ability to maintain confidentiality, integrity, and impartiality in handling sensitive employee-related matters. 9) Fluency in English and local languages/dialects is required.
