Job Description


: Schedule Optimisation: Implement advanced routing and scheduling tools to efficiently manage the flow of goods across the middle mile, accounting for factors such as package quantity, vehicle capacity, traffic conditions, and delivery timelines Vendor Management: Collaborate closely with forwarding/ trucking partners, negotiate transport rates, and ensure adherence to agreed-upon service level agreements. Develop and foster strong relationships with partners to enhance operational efficiency Performance Evaluation: Monitor and assess the performance of partners, pinpoint opportunities for enhancement, and take proactive measures to address challenges such as delays, capacity limitations, and service interruptions Data Insight: Utilise data-driven insights to identify trends, patterns, and potential avenues for process refinement. Employ data analysis to steer decision-making and execute process improvements that positively impact efficiency and cost-effectiveness Capacity Planning: Coordinate with demand planning teams to predict product volume and strategise for peak periods, ensuring adequate capacity and resources are available to meet customer demands Risk Management: Anticipate potential disruptions in middle mile operations and create contingency plans to mitigate risks. Uphold business continuity during unexpected situations or challenges Documentation and Reporting: Keep accurate records of middle mile operations, vendor performance, and key metrics. Produce regular reports to offer insights to management and relevant stakeholders Requirements: A bachelor\'s degree in disciplines such as Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Research, or related fields. Demonstrated experience in middle mile transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations, preferably within an e-commerce or high-volume context Proficiency in data analysis, capable of interpreting data, recognising trends, and making informed, data-backed decisions Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with vendor partners, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and interact with stakeholders. Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS), routing software, and tools for data analysis Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining meticulous attention to detail Adept problem-solving abilities with the capacity to think critically and make swift decisions within a fast-paced environment Strong negotiation skills and the capability to cultivate relationships with external partners Adaptability to shifting business needs, including availability during peak periods and occasional travel
