SCOPE OF ROLE: Bartenders, or Mixologists, mix and serve alcoholic beverages based on customer requests. The duties include verifying the identification and age of customers, preparing and serving alcoholic beverages, accepting payment from customers, cleaning glasses and bar utensils, and balancing cash receipts to record sales. RESPONSIBILITIES: \xe2\x80\xa2 Entertain guests while mixing drinks, talking to customers about spirits, and offering trivia and history about various alcohols to keep customers engaged and enjoying themselves. \xe2\x80\xa2 Ensure that bars are stocked with glasses, garnishes, drink mixes, and ice. \xe2\x80\xa2 Suggest cocktails and mixed drinks to customers who are unsure about what they want to order. \xe2\x80\xa2 Responsible for crafting original beverage menu items and designing new, innovative cocktails using the ingredients that are already supplied by the company. \xe2\x80\xa2 Process cash and credit card payments from customers and verify that patrons are old enough to drink before serving them alcohol. \xe2\x80\xa2 Keeping the bar area clean and organized, maintaining all sanitation standards of the business, and local food and beverage laws. \xe2\x80\xa2 Keeping the bar well stocked and fully supplied with alcohol, and filling out inventory forms in order to replace items as needed. \xe2\x80\xa2 Adhere to state laws regarding alcohol consumption by checking customer identification and cutting off customers who have had too much to drink. \xe2\x80\xa2 Set up bars before they open and perform closing procedures at the end of business hours and they may also serve food. \xe2\x80\xa2 Prepare all drink garnishes and keep the garnish station continuously stocked during their shifts. \xe2\x80\xa2 To undertake other jobs assigned by superior from time to time.
