The Purchasing Manager is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing all goods and services required for hotel operations, including food & beverage, housekeeping, engineering, and administrative supplies. The role ensures cost control, quality standards, timely delivery, and compliance with hotel policies and brand requirements.
Key Responsibilities Procurement & Vendor Management
Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best quality, pricing, and delivery terms
Develop and maintain an approved supplier list in line with hotel and brand standards
Build strong relationships with key vendors and conduct regular performance reviews
Ensure all purchases comply with hotel policies, contracts, and ethical standards
Purchasing Operations
Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders accurately and timely
Coordinate with department heads to forecast purchasing needs
Ensure correct specifications, quantities, and quality of items purchased
Monitor lead times and ensure uninterrupted supply for hotel operations
Cost Control & Inventory
Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality
Monitor market trends, price fluctuations, and availability of goods
Work closely with the Storekeeper to manage inventory levels and avoid overstocking or shortages
Participate in stock counts and audits as required
Compliance & Documentation
Maintain proper purchasing records, contracts, and supplier documentation
Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and brand guidelines
Coordinate with Finance for invoice matching, approvals, and payment processing
Coordination & Communication
Liaise with Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Engineering, and other departments
Resolve supply issues, discrepancies, and quality concerns promptly
Support pre-opening or renovation purchasing activities when required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM8,500.00 per month
