The Senior Account Executive (Reporting - Full Set Accounts) is responsible for managing and overseeing the full spectrum of accounting functions, including financial reporting, statutory compliance, and audit coordination. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, analytical capability, and the ability to ensure accurate, timely, and transparent reporting to support management's strategic decision-making.
The position also involves supervising the financial team in day-to-day operations, ensuring adherence to internal control systems, and providing financial insights that enhance organizational efficiency and fiscal discipline.
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., MFRS).
Maintain accurate general ledger entries and ensure timely reconciliation of all accounts, including bank, supplier, and intercompany balances.
Manage and oversee the full set of accounts, including Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and General Ledger (GL).
Ensure all journal entries are properly documented and compliant with internal policies and statutory requirements.
Provide accurate and timely management reports, variance analyses, and financial performance updates to management.
Support budgeting and forecasting activities, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
B. Compliance & Audit Coordination
Ensure compliance with statutory laws, financial regulations, and tax requirements (EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB, SST, etc.).
Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and government authorities for audit and compliance matters.
Prepare and maintain supporting schedules and documentation for annual audits.
Monitor financial risk and internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial data.
C. Treasury & Cash Flow Management
Oversee cash flow planning and management, ensuring adequate liquidity for operational needs.
Prepare bank reconciliation and monitor fund disbursements, supplier payments, and petty cash management.
Coordinate payment runs, ensuring accuracy and approval procedures are adhered to.
Assist management in financial planning and cost control measures to optimize resources.
D. Team Supervision & Process Improvement
Supervise junior finance staff in bookkeeping, data entry, and financial documentation tasks.
Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure efficiency and accuracy in accounting processes.
Review and improve accounting procedures, workflows, and financial reporting systems for better accuracy and productivity.
Support the implementation and maintenance of accounting software (e.g., XERO or equivalent).
E. General & Other Duties
Prepare ad-hoc financial analyses and reports requested by management.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate cost allocations and financial data integration.
Uphold confidentiality and integrity in all financial dealings and documentation.
Perform any other finance-related duties as assigned by the Head of Department or management.
