Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Portfolio Manager leads/participate in multiple projects/project phases managing project scope, adjusting schedules when necessary, determining daily priorities, ensuring efficient and on-time delivery of project tasks and milestones, following appropriate escalation paths. Ensures that IT solutions and project delivery comply with the Abbott's policies and procedures to meet statutory, quality and business requirements within the overall strategy, objectives and service standards of the Division IT and Business Technology Services groups.

You will be the Primary liaison to APAC Regional IT/Division IT and Business (BRM).

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations Support

  • Perform Weekly Portfolio & Demand Management Reviews
  • Monitor and track action items based on outcome of Portfolio & Demand Management Reviews
  • Monitor Project Delivery and Performance Measures (Cost, Scope, Schedule) utilizing Project Management principles
  • Lead and coach PBR Organization to identify risk and issues
  • Work with BRM to understand pipeline & ensure data quality and proper scheduling of projects based on capacity
  • Bridge the gap with Suppliers, BRM, PBR on Demand & Capacity management
  • Facilitate weekly reviews of Pre-Pipeline & Pipeline with Suppliers to ensure capacity is being met
  • Ensure PMO process is being exercised and incorporated (day-to-day), including usage of tools (PowerSteering, PowerBi)
  • Provide weekly Portfolio Status by Region
  • Ensure changes in process is communicated to regional team
  • Identify training needs for BRM & PBR teams
Business Analysis
  • Applies IT and business knowledge and experience to formulate business requirements to solve for a business problem
  • Develop knowledge of existing and proposed solutions both in and outside the region
  • Consults with Division IT and Global IT teams to identify suitable IT solutions to solve the business problem
  • Works with business and IT management to establish project goals, objectives and deliverables.
Work Management
  • Manage a variety of tasks concurrently and show flexibility of work patterns to meet timeframes and delivery
  • Suggest new processes and techniques which will improve the efficiency or effectiveness of the team
  • Work is reviewed for soundness of business judgment and to determine if overall results and objectives have been achieved
  • Provide and support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders, identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices, monitoring progress and results, recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes and new responsibilities
Relationship Management
  • Developing and maintaining close working relationships with internal and external customers as appropriate
  • Act as a key interface between the business and the system development team to ensure that business needs are clearly understood, communication between the parties is effective and user expectations are managed
  • Approach technical concepts in plain English and with an approachable style
  • Demonstrate patience, tolerance and understanding

Project Management
  • Project manage complete or phases of projects. Manage project scope & budget, prioritize & adjust schedules and escalate when necessary to ensure efficient and on-time delivery of project tasks and milestones.
  • Follow internal mandated policies/processes/document creation/reporting norms during and after project execution
  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures
  • Performs work using existing standards, methodologies and processes and understands other
  • systems/business processes relationship to each other
  • Communicate project progress by producing/updating project reports to provide timely and accurate project status and decision support information to Project Team, Department and Division management
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • 10 years IT experience working within a large/complex IT organization. Experience supporting multiple business functions/organizations.
  • Minimum 6 yrs. experience leading/managing software application implementation & development projects in a global, matrixed, and virtual organization.
  • Strong leadership capabilities and the ability to simultaneously think and act strategically and tactically to balance long-term planning in parallel with flawless execution. Proficient communicator across all levels of the organization.
  • High proficiency with most/all phases of software development life cycle and project implementation using Waterfall, Agile, DevOps or hybrid methodologies.
  • Must possess experience delivering through third parties and in an onshore/offshore model.
  • In-depth Knowledge of IBM AS/400 and its ERP application BPCS will be added value.
  • Experience in business application development will be value added.
  • Certified PMP will be added value.
