Job Summary
The Senior Accounts Executive supports the accounting team in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. This role is primarily responsible for managing accounts payable, performing supplier and bank reconciliations, assisting in the preparation of full sets of accounts, supporting cross-checking processes within the finance department, and providing analytical support to the Accounts Manager to ensure financial integrity and compliance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounts Payable (AP) Management
Process supplier invoices, staff claims, and payments in a timely and accurate manner.
Ensure proper documentation, coding, and approvals in accordance with company policies.
Maintain up-to-date AP aging and follow up on outstanding items with suppliers.
2. Supplier Reconciliation
Perform monthly reconciliation of supplier statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly with the purchasing or receiving teams.
Maintain good working relationships with suppliers to ensure smooth transaction flow.
3. Bank Reconciliation
Prepare and review monthly bank reconciliations for all company bank accounts.
Investigate and resolve unreconciled items and ensure accuracy of bank balances.
4. General Accounting & Reporting
Assist in preparing journal entries, accruals, and month-end closing activities.
Support the preparation of full sets of accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and supporting schedules.
Ensure accounting records comply with statutory, tax, and audit requirements.
5. Financial Analysis Support
Assist the Accounts Manager in cost, variance, and financial performance analysis.
Provide data and reports to support management decision-making.
Participate in improving accounting processes and controls for better efficiency and accuracy.
6. Cross-Checking and Internal Control
Assist in cross-checking processes within the finance department to ensure data accuracy and consistency across reports, ledgers, and supporting documents.
Highlight discrepancies or irregularities and coordinate with relevant team members for timely correction.
Support internal control measures to safeguard company assets and enhance financial integrity.
7. Audit & Compliance
Assist in both internal and external audit exercises by preparing relevant documentation.
Ensure compliance with SST, EPF, SOCSO, PCB, and other statutory regulations.
8. Other Responsibilities
Maintain accurate filing and documentation for all financial records.
Support ad-hoc projects, system improvements, and other accounting-related assignments as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in F&B or service industry.
Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SQL, Xero, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to work independently and meet reporting deadlines.

Pay: RM3,800.00 - RM5,500.00 per month
